Job Title: Head of LPG Business Unit – Nigeria

About the Role
- The Head of LPG Business Unit will build, lead, and scale a high-performing LPG business in Nigeria across carbon and non-carbon product lines.
- The role carries full P&L ownership and requires strong commercial leadership, strategic market development, government partnership management, and capability building.
- This leader will create the long-term strategy, build the team from scratch, drive key account growth, and position the business for expansion into other West African countries.
Duties and Responsibilities
Strategy & Business Leadership:
- Develop and execute the Nigeria LPG Business Unit strategy across carbon and non-carbon sales.
- Create long-term growth plans and operational roadmaps, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
- Establish strong governance, compliance, and safety standards.
- Translate strategy into measurable initiatives, KPIs, and delivery timelines.
- Internally coordinate with all BURN stakeholders to ensure delivery on LPG milestones in west Africa, including Supply chain, logistics, finance and other stakeholder departments
P&L Ownership & Commercial Delivery:
- Hold full P&L responsibility for the West Africa LPG Business Unit, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.
- Define pricing, margin, and channel strategies for both product categories.
- Lead forecasting, budgeting, and performance management.
- Drive commercial and operational efficiency across the value chain.
Team Development & Leadership:
- Build a multidisciplinary team from the ground up, including sales, operations, technical, and support functions.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and retain high-performing talent.
- Promote a culture of accountability, safety, service excellence, and integrity.
LPG carbon projects implementation:
- Lead execution of BURN LPG carbon projects in west Africa, ensuring all milestones are achieved
- Ensure our LPG carbon projects are executed in line with all internal and external partner requirements
- Identify, onboard and manage all key partners engaged for our LPG carbon projects in West-Africa
Key Accounts & Market Growth:
- Lead acquisition and management of top-tier customers, distributors, and industrial clients.
- Design and negotiate long-term contracts, partnerships, and supply agreements
- Strengthen customer relationships and expand market share through tailored solutions and innovation.
- Represent the business in industry forums, associations, and stakeholder engagements.
Government Partnerships & Regulatory Engagement:
- Work closely with the Nigeria Country Manager to cultivate strong relationships with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and energy-sector institutions.
- Ensure compliance with all LPG regulations, safety requirements, and reporting standards.
- Contribute to national and regional policy conversations relevant to LPG, clean cooking, and energy transition.
- Advocate for supportive, safe, and sustainable market development frameworks.
Market Research & Regional Expansion:
- Lead ongoing market intelligence efforts across Nigeria and West Africa, including demand trends, competition, policy changes, and pricing dynamics.
- Conduct feasibility studies and market-entry assessments for potential expansion into new West African markets.
- Identify high-potential countries and develop business cases for entry.
- Map potential partners, customers, and government contacts in target markets.
- Design and support the execution of regional expansion plans, ensuring alignment with corporate growth ambitions.
- Monitor regional LPG developments and position the business ahead of regulatory or market shifts.
