Job Description

  • We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our Conflict Checks team in the delivery of standardized aspects of services to internal business, especially on potential Conflicts /Conflict Checks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to other Risk Analysts by researching and analysing data on conflict check request entities.
  • Confirm that all conflict checks meet requirements for layout, neatness, and contain sufficient, relevant, and reliable information.
  • Monitor and follow up on all case statuses.
  • Demonstrate a broad understanding of how conflict checks impact the firm’s products and services.
  • Maintain an appropriate level of knowledge and understanding of the firm’s products and services.
  • Ensure the quality, accuracy, and completeness of all conflict checks.
  • Ensure all conflict checks are reviewed, validated, and tracked before circulation.
  • Maintain regular communication with management and the team regarding problem areas, and keep relevant stakeholders updated.
  • Provide support to team members and ensure timely completion of conflict checks.
  • Carry out periodic checks on outstanding information and provide continuous follow-up to finalise cases.
  • Assist with general and additional tasks related to conflict checks as delegated.
  • Review research and data analysis performed by Risk Analysts, resolve any errors or issues, and ensure accuracy.
  • Review and, if necessary, correct responses prepared for conflict check initiators before posting.
  • Review communications with Global Risk Analysts and/or the firm, ensuring content accuracy before posting.
  • Ensure Risk Analysts are appropriately assigned to cases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A., B.Eng., B.Tech., etc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in a relevant discipline, with a minimum of Second Class Lower/Lower Credit division.
  • Minimum of credit in five WASSCE/GCE/NECO Ordinary Level subjects (or equivalent), including Mathematics and English Language, obtained in one sitting.
  • At least 4 years’ experience in a relevant function or area.
  • In-depth experience in risk, compliance, and audit.
  • Strong understanding of risk, independence, and conflict of interest issues within the audit environment.
  • Good knowledge of relevant regulatory bodies (e.g., IFAC (IESBA), SEC, PCAOB).
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Basic knowledge of finance and research skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to evaluate business scenarios logically and resolve issues.
  • Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision.
  • High attention to detail and excellent data entry skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written business communication skills, with the ability to interface with senior management and staff locally and globally.
