Job Title: Packaging Process Artisan

Position Overview

  • The key purpose of this role is to operate, maintain, repair, and optimize plant and associated devices to ensure plant availability and product quality.

Key outputs and responsibilities

  • Operate machine and equipment
  • Optimize production performance and process
  • Maintain, repair, and optimize plant and associated devises
  • Maintain safe, healthy, and risk-free working environment
  • Work in teams.
  • React to the results using the VPO tools supplied
  • Actively participate in shift meetings, asking questions to test understanding and contributing suggestions.
  • Making use of the action logs to record issues, problems, and improvement opportunities.
  • Fully understand the team Dream and contribute to achieving it.
  • Complete required hand over to incoming shift team members, ensuring the issues relating to plant performance, quality and maintenance are communicated.

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:

  • Min. of B.Sc./HND/B-Tech in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related course.
  • 2 – 3 years’ experience in Brewing/FMCG environment
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office applications i.e. (Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint).

Expected Standards:

  • Management skills.
  • People handling ability.
  • Mental alertness, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Conceptual skills.

  • Prepared to work shifts
  • The main role is to apply core competencies to achieve optimum plant and process performance.

Position Overview

  • The key purpose of this role is to lead the shift-based team/s in the execution of the production plan to the required performance criteria.

Key roles and responsibilities
Maintain a Safe and Healthy Work Environment:

  • Comply with safety, health and environmental procedures and legislation
  • Maintain safety and housekeeping standards.

Optimise Production Performance & Processes:

  • Manages shift in accordance with VPO tools and principles
  • Manages shift to achieve production plan within the allowed costs
  • Co-ordinate scheduled maintenance and autonomous operations
  • Monitor and co-ordinate production processes to within budget.
  • Interpret and implement the production plan for shift.
  • Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Build and foster relationships with customers and suppliers.

Optimise Team Performance:

  • Facilitate effective team dynamics.
  • Implement performance management and OPR processes
  • Communicate effectively in the workplace.

Perform Administration:

  • Ensure application of admin systems and procedures.
  • Administer conditions of employment for team members.
  • Contribute to self and team development.
  • Prepare and control budgets.
  • Manage financial performance (prepare and manage budgets) and monthly financial Short Interval Control.

Manage Human Resources:

  • Develop employees.
  • Ensure a healthy industrial relations climate.
  • Manage and apply people policies and practices.

Profile

  • B.Sc Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering
  • Completed Traineeship
  • Completion of a InBev packaging Traineeship
  • Min – SAP (Where applicable) and Voyager Plant Optimisation (VPO); Experience in a packaging process environment; Supervisory level experience
  • Minimum 2 years in FMCG environment
  • Computer literate, analytical thinker
  • Leadership capability.
