Job Title: Lead Counsel, Lands & Claims

Tasks

  • To provide governance and accountability in the strategic management of NLNG’s land assets, to ensure efficiency and coordination in their acquisition, identification, documentation, and utilization.
  • To coordinate legal support in all matters pertaining to compensation as relates to land and infrastructure and other improvements thereon.

Main Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement a framework for the management of NLNG’s land assets, clearly identifying and delineating the respective roles, responsibilities and interfaces of relevant Business Units involved in the process, with a view to entrenching an efficient and coordinated corporate land administration system for the Company.
  • Undertake custody of the NLNG land master plan and title documents, and ensure proper documentation of NLNG’s land assets, e.g., plant site, residential area, Corporate Head Office site, GTS Right of Way, etc., with a view to creating a corporate land register that will clearly identify/define the said assets and guarantee their effective safeguard.
  • Drive negotiations relating to acquisition or lease of land or landed property by NLNG, and ensure utilization of sustainable opportunities to achieve for NLNG, favourable close out and outcomes in such negotiations, e.g., land acquisition negotiations for expansion initiatives like Train 7, buffer zones for the GTS/ Node Junctions, pipeline Right of Way, additional land for corporate projects, Abuja Office lease, London Office lease, Lagos office lease, etc.
  • Coordinate legal searches at land registries and other appropriate institutions; perform due diligence checks on land and relevant titles/documentation as may be required by NLNG and undertake perfection of NLNG’s title and other interests over land and land-based assets, to always ensure adequate protection of NLNG’s said interests.
  • Coordinate legal services for NLNG’s community stakeholder engagement as pertains to its existing and future land assets/requirements, especially in the areas of enumeration, compensation and related claims, resettlement issues, etc., with a view to processing, resolving, and bringing closure to any such claims without adverse impact on NLNG’s operations.
  • Provide advice and guidance on policies related to land use, planning, development, control, and administration, and ensure smooth interface with regulators over NLNG’s land assets, to ensure compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage all issues pertaining to compliance with legal covenants as may be contained in NLNG’s title documents, such as the computation and payment of ground rents, tenement rates, property taxes (where applicable), and provide support in the development and administration of the contractual framework for the maintenance of surveillance and provision of services relating to the pipeline Right of Way and related assets.
  • Manage the relationship and interface between NLNG and third-party service providers regarding the acquisition, administration, and management of its land assets, e.g., surveyors, valuers, external solicitors, etc., to ensure single point accountability for all land related transactions with such service provider.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL. B, B. L) at Second Class Lower Division (2.2) and above.
  • Minimum of 5 years post-Call to Bar work experience, out of which at least 3 years should have been spent in active litigation in a reputable law firm or as counsel in a legal function in an oil and gas organization.

Job Title: Senior Security Advisor – Operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any of the Social Sciences or Arts at Second Class Lower Division (2:2) and above.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ post-graduation work experience with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar role in a reputable organization, preferably an Oil & Gas company.
  • Relevant Professional certifications are an added advantage.

Job Title: Senior IT Security, Risk Management & Control Technical

Tasks

  • Provide Information Security services by review of new technologies, definition of security configuration, performance of vulnerability assessments, response to and resolution of security incidents, and communication of information technology security risk, thus ensuring that the organization maintains prescribed Information Technology standards.
  • Lead investigations on information security incidents in all NLNG IT Environments including NLNG Plant Control Domain (PCD), follow-up on learning’s from incidents and report findings to the NLNG IT Security Incident Management Committee
  • Lead the review, assessment and sign-off security requirements for all IT projects and major changes in existing IT environments. Participate in the IT Architecture Review Board to ensure that IT Solutions delivered with Projects are in line with the Reference Architectures and are fit for use /fit for purpose. Provide IT Security assurance on assigned IT projects and conduct Business Impact Analysis (BIA) for those assigned projects
  • Adopt and apply IT Security Standards for  security assessments and validation in  the processes of  database design, servers, desktop, network, application development and other IT systems  to ensure that these solutions security configurations complies with these standards.
  • Adopt and apply the standard IT Risk Management standards, tools and techniques to accurately manage all IT Risks that cover the whole threat and vulnerability landscape of NLNG IT Environment and develop IT Risk Visuals for Management team review.
  • Coordinate the conduct of Business Impact Analysis (BIA) for all  IT as agreed in the BIA for IT Services. Maintain the IT disaster recovery services. Implement the necessary IT controls in NLNG IT Environments including PCD that will guarantee the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of NLNG Data in line with the NLNG Management commitment plan in support of corporate NLNG Business continuity
  • Participate in all PCD Systems project security assessments, Cyber Security control activities and serve as an interface for the alignment of the IT Security policies/standards with the Process Control Domain (PCD) Security policies/standards.
  • Implement and conducts periodic vulnerability assessment of Company assets, existing IT systems and new systems before go-live. Participate in design of information system contingency plans that maintain appropriate levels of protection and meet time requirements for minimizing disruptions to operation
  • Manage access controls for IT systems by agreeing, documenting, monitoring, reporting, enforcing appropriate restriction and preventing abuse of user access control for IT systems within the company’s computing environment. Provide expert technical advice and guidance to management and other technical specialists on critical information security issues.

Requirements

  • A University Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Management or related field; a professional certification, such as a CISSP, CRISC or other Information Security credentials, will be advantage.
  • 5 to 7 years post graduate experience, out of which 2 years should have been spent in a similar position preferably an Oil & Gas company.

Job Title: Lead Refit Engineer

Tasks

  • To manage and promote the highest achievable maintenance standards, ensure availability and reliability of BGT fleet. Also, initiate and manage repair programs and management of critical equipment on board BGT fleet.

Main Accountabilities

  • Schedule and implement robust ship visit program to identify and control technical and HSE related issues before they develop into incidents or nonconformance’s that may impact on the performance of the fleet.
  • Plan, execute and attend dry docking of all BGT vessels to ensure quality maintenance of the vessels in line with approved specification, including liaison with Fleet managers in the preparation scope review of material requisition (MR) for adequacy and in the most cost-effective way.
  • Collate and maintain refit history in terms of scope and cost, critical spare management record and ensure procurement of long lead items in other to minimize unavailability of BGT vessels.
  • Participate in the development, selection, and periodic review of approved shipyards for the dry docking of BGT vessels. Ensure maintenance of HSE standards of selected yards, competence of yard to carry out refit and advise management of the best in terms of safety, cost, and value.
  • Develop and implement safety campaigns and programs to improve the technical competence of shipboard officers and ensure adequate training of officers on latest technologies including knowledge sharing and retention programs.

Requirements

  • Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency (Class 1) in Marine Engineering or B.Sc Degree equivalent in Marine Engineering field at Second Class Lower Division (2:2) and above.
  • With a minimum 8 years post-graduation work experience out of which 5 years is served in a senior officer category on LNG/LPG carriers including 2 years shore experience in an integrated Shipping/Oil/Gas company

  • Provide legal advice and support in relation to contract development, contractor variation and claims, negotiation, and dispute mediation activities, as well as contract administration/management, with a view to protecting NLNG’s interest, eliminating avoidable loss and maximizing accruable value.
  • Provide legal advice to the Estate Services function, managing the interface, mediation and resolution of disputes relating to terms and conditions of use of corporate facilities, shared resources, and related facilities provided by Company to NLNG and Contractor personnel and 3rd parties amicably with a view to achieving equitable results and zero loss of value.
  • Provide legal advice to NLNG Management and internal customers as required, to identify and anticipate legal risks arising from business and operational activities.
