Job Title: Tax Accountant

Location: Lagos

Job Description
Tax Compliance:

  • Prepare and file accurate and timely tax returns, including corporate income tax, VAT, and other relevant filings.
  • Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations and provide recommendations for compliance.

Accounts Payable:

  • Oversee the accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to address payment inquiries and resolve discrepancies.

Financial Analysis:

  • Analyze financial data to identify opportunities for tax savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary financial information for tax planning and reporting.

Audits and Reviews:

  • Manage tax-related audits, responding to inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Conduct internal reviews to identify and address potential tax and payable-related issues and risks.

Tax Planning:

  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies in coordination with payable processes to optimize the company’s financial position.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align tax planning and payable activities with overall business objectives.

Reporting:

  • Generate accurate and timely tax and payable reports for management and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with international reporting standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in tax accounting and payable functions, preferably in a telecommunications or related industry.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of local and international tax regulations.
  • Experience with payable processes and financial systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
