The Management of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina on behalf of the Governing Council, is hereby soliciting for applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: Director, Sports

Location: Katsina

Responsibilities and Duties
Director Sports The Director of Sports is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor in the areas of proper development of exercise, sporting and recreational activities in the University, and coordinate all sporting activities in the University. Other duties include:

• Initiate sporting requirements and activities for students;
• Coordinate and develop sporting competitions.
• Organize activities that will ensure that exercise and recreational values, which are essential to good health are imbibed by students and staff.
• Source for funds to develop sporting activities.
• Assist in enhancing the career prospects of high performance in any game.
• Prepare quarterly and annual reports in sporting activities and competitions through the Dean, Student Affairs Division to the University Senate and thence to the University Council.
• Serve as a member of the University Sports Committee; vii. Recommend in-service training programme for staff
• Participate in purchasing of sporting equipment.
• Carry out other duties as can be assigned and provide some professional and community service.

Qualifications and Experience

• Candidate must possess a good honours Degree with a Master’s Degree in Physical and Health Education from a recognized University.
• A graded coaching certificate in the relevant game from the National Institute of Sports (NIS) or any recognized sports institution and a minimum of eighteen (18) years of coaching experience.
• A Doctorate Degree in a relevant discipline, A graded coaching certificate in the relevant game from the National Institute of Sports (NIS) or any recognized sports institution and a minimum of fifteen (15) years of coaching experience would be considered
• The candidate shall not be older than fifty-five (55) years at the time of assumption of duty.

Conditions of Service

• Salary, allowances and other conditions of service attached to the position are the same as the approved salary structure for Federal Universities in Nigeria.

Job Title: Director, Directorate of Information and Communications Technology (DICT)

Location: Katsina

The Position
The Director of Information and Communication Technology are a Management Staff and is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for:

• The day-to-day maintenance, planning, development and management of the ICT Directorate.
• Providing leadership through supervision, monitoring and coordinating of all activities of the ICT Directorate.
• Advising the University Management on the appropriate data processing policies
• Guide the University Management on the use and availability of computing facilities for research.
• Designing and implementation of data processing systems for effective University Administration, 1 Recommend for the procurement and updating of computer hardware.
• Organize regular training programmes on computing to the staff of the University.
• Carry out other duties as may be assigned by the Vice-Chancellor, and
• Provide professional and community service.

Qualifications
Candidate for this post shall:

• Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science obtained from a recognized institution with a minimum of 2″Class Lower Division plus NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption.
• Shall be computer literate and proficient in relevant computer applications as applicable in running a modern Information and Communication Directorate.
• Be registered with a relevant professional body with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant post-qualification experience and twelve (12) years post-registration experience.
• In addition, the candidate must have at least ten (10) years of relevant experience in a senior management position preferably in a University or other public tertiary institutions.
• Demonstrate extensive experience in the development and implementation of systems analysis, programming and data processing.
• Show demonstrable evidence of consummate management and leadership passion and drive in previous positions in addition, must possess excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills,
• Exhibit the ability to be a team leader, and has clear mentorship skills and plans.
• Should not be older than sixty (60) years of age upon appointment and should be within the sixty-five (65) years retirement age at the expiration of his/her tenure
• Enjoy strong physical and mental health.
• Possess personal integrity, demonstrate transparency in private and public life, be able to command the respect and loyalty of staff students and other members of the University Community.

Terms and Conditions of Service

• The Director of Information and Communication Technology shall hold office for a term of four (4) years on such terms and conditions as may be specified in the letter of appointment.
• The remuneration and other conditions of service are as applicable to the post of Director of Information and Communications Technology in Nigerian Universities and as may be determined from time to time by the Governing Council of the University.

Job Title: Director, Directorate of Physical Planning and Development (DPP&D)

Location: Katsina

The Position
The Director Physical Planning and Development is a Management Staff and responsible to the Vice Chancellor for:

• The day-to-day maintenance, planning, development and management of the University physical structures
• Coordination and supervision of physical development projects, ensuring quality standards and maintenance structures in the University
• Supervision, monitoring and coordinate of all staff and activities of the Directorate
• Ensure compliance with the provisions of the University’s Physical Master plan and its update from time to time
• Prepare and present to Management quarterly and annual reports on the state of the Physical facilities in the University and ongoing and or planned projects
• Design and maintain an excellent reticulation of power, data and water supplies to all units of the University
• Carrying out other duties as may be assigned by the Vice-Chancellor

Qualifications
Candidate for this post shall:

• Possess a good B.Sc in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical / Electronic Engineering or any other relevant degree from a recognized Institution with a minimum of 2nd Cass Lower Division plus NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption
• Candidate should be computer literate and proficient in relevant computer applications as applicable in running a modern Physical Planning and Development Directorate
• The candidate must possess professionally recognized certificate with current practicing license as well as not less than twenty (20) years past qualification Engineering experience
• In addition, the candidate must have at least ten (10) years of relevant experience in a senior management position preferably in a University or other public tertiary institutions
• Show demonstrable evidence of consummate management and leadership passion and drive in previous positions and in addition, must possess excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills
• Exhibit the ability to be a team leader, has clear mentor-ship skills and plans
• Should not be older than sixty (60) years of age upon appointment and should be within the sixty-five (65) years retirement age at the expiration of his/her tenure
• Enjoy strong physical and mental health

Job Title: Director of Consultancy

Location: Katsina

Summary

• Umar Musa Yaradua University hereby announces the vacant position of Director, Consultancy of the University Directorate of Consultancy Services and invites interested and qualified candidates to submit application.

The Position
The Director Consultancy is a Management Staff and responsible to the Vice Chancellor for:

• The day to day maintenance, planning development and management of the University Directorate of Consultancy Services
• Providing leadership through supervision, monitoring and coordinating of all activities of the Directorate
• Advising the University Management on the appropriate business and services policies that would positively boost the University internally generated revenue
• Guide the University Management on the ability and use of the University facilities for consultancy
• Carry out other duties as may be assigned by the Vice Chancellor;and
• Provide professional and community services

Qualifications
Candidate for this post shall:

• Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration / Management obtained from a recognized institution with a minimum of 2nd Cass Lower Division plus NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption
• Be a full member of any recognized Professional Business Management or investment body
• Have a minimum of fifteen (15) years post qualification cognate experience, five years of which shall be in top Management position, preferably Deputy Director’s level in a public tertiary Institution
• Be able to demonstrate ability to formulate and implement business/investment policies and produce manual of Business investment procedures;
• Be computer literate with working knowledge of relevant business investment packages
• Show demonstrable evidence of consummate business investment management and leadership passion and drive in previous positions and in addition, must possess excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills
• Exhibit the ability to bea team leader, has dear mentorship skills and plans
• Should not be older than sixty (60) years of age upon appointment and should be within the sixty-five (65) years retirement age at the expiration of his/her tenure

• Possession of any relevant postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage

• The Director Consultancy shall hold office for a term of four 4 years on such terms and conditions as may be specified in the letter of appointment.
• The remuneration and other conditions of service are as applicable to the post of Director of Consultancy in Nigerian Universities and as may be determined from time to time by the Governing Council of the University.
