How To Register On NHS Website For Health Tech Role Jobs 

The first step to looking for health tech tole in the UK is to register on the NHS website. Here’s how to register on the NHS website:

1. Check if you’re eligible to work as a registered nurse in the UK by completing the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) application process and their self-assessment test.

2. If you applying outside the UK, complete your English Language (EL) Test and Computer-Based Test (CBT) to prove your English proficiency. You don’t necessarily have to do this before you apply for the job, but you’ll need to do it before you travel to the UK.

The Requirement For The Job 

You must make sure you qualify for the following requirements for a Health worker visa:

  • You should be a professional doctor, nurse, health professional, or adult social care professional. 
  • Your job must be eligible for a visa. 
  • You will be working for the United Kingdom health and care sector employer which has been approved by the Home Office. 
  • You will be paid the least salary or the going rate for the type of work that you will be doing – whichever could be higher. 

How To Check If You Are Qualified For The Job 

Before you start looking for the job you are qualified for, you will need to know the 4-digit occupation code. After getting a job offer, ask your employer for an occupation code. You can also search for your occupation code on the ONS occupation coding tool. 

However, not all jobs that are included in the ONS tool. If you can’t find your job title then you can search for similar jobs. 

So check very well that your job description matches what you are doing. For instance, some jobs in the same area of practice have different codes like dentists and dental hygiene therapists.

  • The health services and public health managers and directors code is 1181.
  • For residential, data and domiciliary care managers’ and proprietors’ codes are 1242. 
  • While the biological scientists and biochemist code are 2112. 
  • For physical scientists are 2113 codes. 
  • Medical practitioners are 2211 codes. 
  • The psychologist’s code is 2212. 
  • The pharmacist’s code is 2213. 
  • Ophthalmic opticians 2214. 
  • The dental practitioner’s code is 2215. 
  • The medical radiographer’s code is 2217. 
  • The podiatrist’s code is 2218. 
  • For health professionals that are not classified somewhere else like audiologists and occupational health advisers code 2219. 
  • The physiotherapist’s code is 2221. 
  • The occupation therapist code is 2222. 
  • The speech and language therapists’ code is 2223. 
  • Therapy professionals that are not classified somewhere else like the osteopathic and psychotherapists code are 2229. 
  • For nurses code is 2231. 
  • 2232 code number is for midwives. 
  • 2442 code number is for cocoa workers. 
  • 3111 code number is for laboratory technicians. 
  • The paramedic’s code number is 3213. 
  • 3216 is the code number of dispensing opticians. 
  • The pharmaceutical technician’s code number is 3217. 
  • The medical and dental technicians’ code number is 3218. 
  • For health associate professionals who are not elsewhere, the code number is 3219. 
  • Nursing auxiliaries and assistants code number 6141. 
  • The dental nurse’s code number is 6143. 
  • 6145 is the code number for the care workers and home careers. 
  • 6146 is the code number for the senior care workers. 

The Approved United Kingdom Health And Care Sector Employers 

You should have been offered a job from an approved UK employer before you apply for a Health and Care worker visa. 

The approved employees are well known as sponsors because they are sponsoring your stay in the UK. 

You must have a job offer from the following: 

  • The NHS.
  • An organization that provides medical services to the NHS. 
  • An organization that provides adult social care. 

Maybe your employer is not approved, then they can apply for a sponsor license if they qualify. 

They will have to pay a fee of £536 for their small businesses and charities or £1,476 for medium and large organizations. This will take up to 8 weeks to process the license application.
