7 Documents You May Need For Your Scholarship Application; Applying for a scholarship is as important as applying for a major job, visa or degree. One common thing with these applications is the fact that you will have to provide some documents.

So to apply for a scholarship, you need to provide some essential documents for the application process. Many may find this challenging. I have come across many scholarship applicants or aspirants who are sometimes confused on the issue of which document will be needed. This post is meant to address this issue. If you are preparing to start applying for scholarships abroad then you need to get these important documents ready.

These documents include;

  1. Scholarship Application form
  2. Your ID/International Passport
  3. Copies of your Transcript/Degree Certificate.
  4. Language Test Certificate
  5. Motivation Letter
  6. Recommendation/Reference Letters
  7. Your CV/Resume

 

Scholarship Application form

This is usually filled online and is also known as an eligibility form. It would contain your personal details and academic qualifications

Your ID/International Passport

Scholarship organisers would want to be sure that you have a passport and can travel.

Language Test Certificate

Always tell them ahead of time that you would be needing a letter for a Scholarship application. Note…Make sure it is an employer or lecturer you have a good relationship with. That way, they will write a lot of plausible things about you, making you stand a chance of winning the Scholarship.

 

Your CV/Resume

Ensure that your CV is up to date. It should clearly outline your Educational and professional background. Your CV should talk about your skills in detail, certificates or even publications.

Additional Documents

Some Scholarships may require you to write up to 4 or 5 essays. MasterCard Foundation Scholarship, Chevening scholarship usually require this

Lastly,  students who are applying for art, design and other similar degrees which includes artistic works and projects will require to submit their Portfolios. When it comes to showing your skills, A portfolio is much more or equally relevant compared to your GPA score.

It is important to ensure you have more than one copy of your documents incase in different places in case your phone gets missing or hacked.
