About The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC)
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is a Para-military organization and the Lead Agency in Road traffic administration and safety management in Nigeria.
In February 1988, the Federal Government created the Federal Road Safety Commission through Decree No. 45 of 1988 as amended by Decree 35 of 1992 referred to in the statute books as the FRSC Act cap 141 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria (LFN).
The functions of the Commission Passed by the National Assembly as the Federal Road Safety Commission (establishment) Act 2007.
- Making the highway safe for motorists and other road users.
- Recommending works and devices designed to eliminate or minimize accidents on the highways and advising the Federal and State Governments including the Federal Capital Territory Administration and relevant governmental agencies on the localities where such works and devices are required, and
- Educating motorists and members of the public on the importance of discipline on the highway.

Branches of Federal Road Safety Commission in Nigeria
According to the commission’s official website, https://frsc.gov.ng/zonal-commands/ there are 12 FRSC zonal headquarters across the country. The zonal headquarters were initially five in its first year of establishment.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR FRSC RECRUITMENT
Qualifications
- Applicants must possess a First Degree / HND from a recognized Institution
- An NYSC Discharge Certificate/Exemption Certificate.
Requirements:
- Computer literacy and possession of a valid National Driver’s Licence shall be an added advantage for all cadres.
- Any certificate or qualification not declared or tendered and accepted at the time of recruitment cannot be presented subsequently for career progression in the Corps.
- Applicants must be Nigerians by birth.
- Applicants must be medically fit and must produce a certificate of medical fitness from a government hospital.
- The candidate must not be less than 18 years or more than 30 years of age. However, 35 years will be considered for Medical Doctors and Articulated Vehicle Drivers.
- All applicants must be single.
- Applicant’s height must not be less than 1.7 metres for males and 1.64 metres for females.
- Medical and Allied professionals must possess current practising licences while Lawyers must have been called to Bar.
- Male applicants must have a fully expanded chest measurement of not less than 0.87 metres.
- Candidates must be free from any form of financial embarrassment, be of good character and must not have been convicted of any criminal offence.
- Applicants must not have tattoos on any part of their body.
- Applicants must use their personal email addresses and phone numbers when submitting their applications online.
Other Conditions:
- Prospective candidates who are pregnant need not apply.
